Ayesha and Daniel's Cultural Wedding at Cheekwood
Tradition meets modern! Ayesha + Daniel celebrated their wedding with a nod to their Indian and Nigerian heritages at Cheekwood. Bright colors, elegant draping and grand chandeliers created the mood of the day. From their first look to the crowded dance floor, to their final wedding exit. The couple mixed modern style with traditions from each of their backgrounds. Here’s a sneak peek into their day!
Ayesha and Daniel met in medical school and it was love at first sight. At least for Daniel. Ayesha's beauty and charm drew him in and Daniel's sweet smile and kind eyes kept Ayesha's attention long enough for them to fall hopelessly in love. Planning a wedding during their residency in Birmingham was no easy task. Ayesha implored the help of her parents and they hired Lindsy Read to carry out their vision : a romantic ceremony in Cheekwood's Perrenial Garden follow by a luxe party in Massey Hall for their 250 guests. While their event was predominately Western, Ayesha and Daniel incorporated elements of their Indian and Nigerian heritages. Ayesha and her bridesmaids wore saris from her native India while the groom and groomsmen looked sharp in classic black tuxedos. Daniel's family members wore their traditional Nigerian aso ebis and ankaras. Guests enjoyed an array of drinks and appetizers on the patio of Massey Hall for cocktail hour. The Emerald Empire Band had the entire crowd dancing all night with everything from Tina Turner, Adele and Bruno Mars with a few Indian tracks thrown in.
